It’s feast or famine here, and right now I’m about a week behind in putting up items from whatever it is that I have been doing over the past week.
I blame the road blocks.
As I do a horrible job of playing catch up, let me throw in a few thoughts from things that I have discovered over the past week:
- It’s really cool when you are asked to escort an admiral around an African city and it turns out that he was (and still is) a hockey player. And you can talk North Stars hockey with him.
- Do you remember what Picasso said when asked for his thoughts on the moon landing? That’s how I feel about the royal wedding.
- The Bruins continue to simultaneously exasperate and amaze me. It’s pretty bad when you wake up in a random African country and have to text someone in another African country in order to get the Game 7 score because you have no internet. Did you know that Tim Thomas practices yoga? I am pretty
skepticalnervous about the semifinals that start today, and am still mildly traumatized by last year’s epic collapse against Philadelphia. - I get a little more depressed each time I log on to BBC’s Africa section and read about another country that’s going a little haywire. A few days ago it was Morocco, today it’s Uganda.
- You can find traces of home in the random countries you frequent:
My family will understand this photo.
